These days my husband and I do not exchange gifts over the holidays. If there is something large we need, we usually pool the money and buy it, then pretend to look surprised when it arrives. In recent years, our purchases have been more practical than frivolous, and this time around the discussion of bedroom furniture came up again. Weve had the same suite since we were married, and while its held up well were wondering if its time for a change. Should we get a new set and relegate the current one to the guest room?
Now that your guests are in the holiday mood, look at the next room they will enter. For most houses, this is the living room. The living room has several focal points already, in most cases. A fireplace is an obvious location for decorations. Stockings, greenery, lights, family photos are all perfectly suited to a mantel. Perhaps your television/viewing area is the central focus. What can you do with a television set? You can tune it to the Yule Log. This is a channel showing a log burning in a fireplace. It makes a wonderful backdrop to your celebration.
Christmas Centerpiece Almost always dining room is the centerpiece for the whole holiday. Thats why you have to think how to decorate it beforehand. Decorate your dinner table with Christmas tablecloths. Fill your room with red and white colors. Add small silver and crystal things. Make your room shine and sparkle.
