Now that your guests are in the holiday mood, look at the next room they will enter. For most houses, this is the living room. The living room has several focal points already, in most cases. A fireplace is an obvious location for decorations. Stockings, greenery, lights, family photos are all perfectly suited to a mantel. Perhaps your television/viewing area is the central focus. What can you do with a television set? You can tune it to the Yule Log. This is a channel showing a log burning in a fireplace. It makes a wonderful backdrop to your celebration.
When decorating this room don t forget the Christmas stockings. People believe that it is only families with children who should hang stockings. But as you probably know most adults become a little bit childish at this time a year and would love to have their own stocking hanging at the fire side. Stockings are easy to make. You can buy wonderful stocking kits that can be passed on from one generation to the next. In fact some families will make new stockings every year to add to their collection.
Add a medium size Christmas tree in the corner of the room. Decorated with just white Christmas lights. Place under the tree private gifts for your partner and yourself. Make sure to place the gifts under the tree after your kids have gone off to bed. Also, place red, green, gold color and scented candles next to the bed. Cinnamon scented candles has "A greater effect than all other perfumes," says Dr. Hirsch of one of his scent studies that involved 100 men. Another favorite is Vanilla. Its soothing, comforting and oh-so-sweet. Follow these easy steps and you will have a bedroom full of holiday cheer and love.
