If you are having an actual getaway for the holidays, you can still create a space in your home that allows you to take a break from the hoopla and find some peace before delving back into it. Carving out that peaceful space might require a little extra effort but will be worth it. First, decide that you will use your bedroom as an oasis, not grand central station for purchases, wrapping and hiding presents. This means you will have to designate another place in your home for these purposes.
Now that your guests are in the holiday mood, look at the next room they will enter. For most houses, this is the living room. The living room has several focal points already, in most cases. A fireplace is an obvious location for decorations. Stockings, greenery, lights, family photos are all perfectly suited to a mantel. Perhaps your television/viewing area is the central focus. What can you do with a television set? You can tune it to the Yule Log. This is a channel showing a log burning in a fireplace. It makes a wonderful backdrop to your celebration.
-With both girls and boys decor, there are lots of bedroom decorating ideas that make great Christmas presents and the most useful may well be great looking toy boxes and cubbies to store all of the other things they get for Christmas. There are lots of great looking collapsible toy boxes with sports themes or flowers and butterflies that will hold a lot of toys and even padded seats that are soft to sit on but also provides you with lots of usable storage as well.
